Arolla’s own Michel and Hubert participated in the inaugural Arolla Summer Full Course 4.75m Cross Country Father’s Day Race on Sunday 19 June. Despite the rail, wind and thunderous sky, there was a great turnout of runners with some fast times posted. James Priest crossed the line first with a time of 25:44, closely followed by 17 year old Will Beasley with 25:53. Special congratulations go to the leading woman Nix Priest, with a time of 30:34, smashing 60 seconds from her previous best.
The race started and finished from the Beach House, L’Ancresse, with the Bananas and chocolate provided by Arolla post-race proving very popular. Many thanks also go to the Guernsey Water Board for providing a standpipe for refilling water bottles.
Hubert Nicolle came in 19th with 31:29 and Michel Davy 41st with 36:17 - very well done to you both and all the runners. Looking forward to next year albeit whatever the weather throws at the runners!
